Please Understand: We are a small motel with a small and dedicated staff, who feels wonderfully blessed to have your interest in our motel. We are generally very busy, and ask for your patience when calling or e-mailing. Our phone system is very small. Sometimes you might get a busy signal, or be put on hold. Q. Do famous people stay there?
A. We think all our guests are famous.
Q. What is your reservation policy?
A. As a small and very busy motel, we can only take reservations 3 months in advance. If a specific date and/or room type is important to you, you are encouraged to call beginning at 9am Central Standard Time on the first day of the month that is 3 months prior to the date you want. For example: if you would like to book a room for any day in October, contact us starting on July 1st.
We are available 24/7 to take reservations by phone, and you may also make reservations online through our web site, for any day other than the 1st of the month. In general, reservations can be made online, by calling at 512-441-1157, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Your credit card information will be needed to make a reservation with us. We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express. Because we keep ALL our rates as low as possible, we do not offer any other group or individual discounts.
Q. How many rooms may I reserve?
A. Only 2 rooms may be reserved per person.
Q. Can I reserve just a Friday night, or just a Saturday night?
A. At this time we require that weekend reservations include a two night stay. Cancellation of one of the two nights results in cancellation of both nights. There are certain conditions in which a room may be available for just one night, it never hurts to check with us for specific availabilities.
Q. How do I go about booking rooms for my wedding?

Q. Are there times when I cannot make a group reservation?
A. We cannot allow any group reservations during the time periods associated with SXSW, ACL Festival, the Lone Star Round-up, MotoCross GP week-end, or F-1 Racing.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. Most reservations can be cancelled with no fee by cancelling before 12 noon on the day before your scheduled reservation. If you fail to cancel by that deadline, you will be charged the cost of the 1st nights stay for the room you had reserved.
Q. Is your cancellation policy the same for large events like SXSW or ACL? Do they differ for large group bookings?
A. Our cancellation and reservation charges are different for large event weekends like the South by South West and the Austin City Limits Festival and a few others. Other large group booking may also have a different cancellation policy. Please ask before or at the time of your reservation for specific clarification on these changes.
Q. I have heard that this is a great place to stay for the music festivals and Lone Star Round-up. How do I make reservations for these special events.
A. Thank you so much for being interested in staying with us. We are honored to be so busy, and there are certain times of the year when demand for rooms is very high and we need to change rates and our reservation and cancellation policies.
Currently, these times are during the South by South West Music, Film, and Interactive Conference, The Lone Star Round Up, GP Motocross weekend, the Austin City Limits Music Festival, and F-1 Racing week-end. If you are interested in reserving for any of these events please contact us for information.

Q. Can I have my birthday party there (or any other party or group gathering)?
A. While we want you to have a wonderful birthday, we DO NOT ALLOW PARTIES. We are simply too small of a place to have a party and we try very hard to keep the motel quiet and peaceful for the enjoyment of all of our guests.
Q. Can my mother (or other friends) come by and visit me while I am staying there?
A. Of course, but all unregistered guests are asked to be off motel property no later than 11PM.
CHECK IN/OUT AND PAYMENT INFORMATION
Q. What do I need to check into my room?
A. You will need a valid ID, state issued or a passport, and your method of payment. The credit card holder must be present at check in with the card and valid ID. Arrangements can be made for someone else to pay for your room, but they must contact our front office @ 512-441-1157 for more details.
Q. What is check in time?
A. Check in time starts at 3pm-the office is open 24 hours but it is best if you let us know if you are checking in late.
Q. What is check out time?
A. Our check out time is a generous 12 noon. If you wish to add another night to your stay, and you do not already have it reserved, please contact the front desk by 11AM to make sure that we can accommodate you. Late check outs are sometimes available with a charge of a % of a day’s rate.
Q. Do we pay at the end of our stay?
A. We require that you pay for your stay when you check in with us. You may pay either for all nights of your stay when you check in or pay for each day by noon.
Q. Can I pay in cash?
A. Yes, but with a cash payment we require either a credit card deposit or a cash deposit on your room. We can accept Travelers Checks which are treated as cash; however we cannot accept personal checks.
Q. How old do I need to be to rent a room at the Austin Motel?
A. Thanks for asking, you must be 21.
Q. Can I pay for my room online?
A. At this time we cannot accept payment online for rooms.
Q. Do you have a pool?
A. Yes, and what a pool it is! Built in the ’50s and modernized in 1998, and again in 2004. Our large kidney shaped pool has lush greenery and cool waters. It is open year round, with solar-assisted heating.
There are NO PARTIES allowed at the pool. NO GLASS CONTAINERS OR ALCOHOL IS EVER ALLOWED IN THE POOL AREA.
Q. What are the pool hours?
A. The pool is open everyday from 8am-11pm. We ask that you read and respect the rules posted at the pool and we reserve the right to refuse use to anyone not showing respect at the pool. At times we do close the pool for maintenance and during those famous Texas-style storms.
Q. What services do you offer?
A. We are known for a friendly staff that can help you with directions, free maps, entertainment guides, and advice about things to do in Austin. The front desk is open 24 hours, where fax services, coffee and tea are available. You can make free local phone calls from your room and long distance rates both state to state and international are low. We have cable and HBO in every room. Wireless internet now available on the motel grounds. Parking is free and often very close to your room.
Q. Do your rooms have air conditioning and heat? A. Yes.
Q. Do you offer breakfast?
A. We offer coffee and tea in the lobby, but our wonderful new healthy cafe, the "Snack Bar" is located on our property for great breakfasts and snacks. The Snack Bar also during regular business hours will deliver to your room.
Q. Why are all your rooms different and at different price rates?
A. Glad you asked. Our motel has several different buildings, built or renovated at different time periods ranging from 1938 to the present. Rates are based on size of the room or the location. Some rooms are basic and others more elaborate. There is often a room here to please most budgets and most tastes.
Q. Do we have to share a bathroom with any other guests?
A. All of our rooms have individual bathrooms, some with showers only and some with whirlpool tubs. Please see the individual room photos for more details.
Q. What do you mean when you say you are a “green motel”?
A. We care about our environment. Here at the Austin Motel we do not use pesticides, harsh cleaning products in the rooms, the linens, or the pool, we recycle, and ask our guests to participate in using a program called "Project Planet" that asks guests to let us know when they do not need their towels or linens changed. Committed to this idea, we continue to seek out ways to be green and clean for our future generations of guests. We are always seeking to improve the ways we can help our environment.
